Scarring & Stretch Marks

Scars and stretch marks are a direct result of damage to the structural proteins in the skin known as collagen and elastin. Not everyone is prone to stretch marks or excessive scarring - as genetic factors have a large role to play. If higher levels of the growth factor TFG B3 is present in the skin at the time of injury, less scarring results.
Vitamin A helps increase the amount of TFG B3 as does microneedling. Vitamin C is another key component in the production of elastin and the treatment of scar tissue
